SUPPORT GROUPS                                                                     Groups Calendar

Directors of Pastoral Counseling & Support Groups:
Brent & Peggie Harbaugh

You do not have to be a member of The Tabernacle Church to participate.

The Tabernacle Church will be having a
“Healing Prayer Gathering”
Sunday, August 15th from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
in the Worship Center

This is not a traditional church service but rather specifically designed for those
who need healing.

Join us for a special time to seek the healing power of the Lord in an environment that allows our prayer partners to pray for an extended period.  You may come and go any time during the service.

Feel free to invite friends or neighbors, saved or unsaved, as the Lord is always ready to meet us right where we are.

The Healing Prayer Gathering also provides a great opportunity to worship the
Lord as Derek Whitehouse, worship pastor, leads us in a wonderful time of
praise and worship.

The Tabernacle Church is located off University Parkway 2.5 miles West of I-75.

Untangling Relationships is for those who are in a co-dependent relationship.  Codependency:  an imbalanced
sense of responsibility to take care of or rescue (even, in some cases, control) others (namely dependents) by fixing their problems, in order to feel needed, valued and worthwhile.  A dependent person is one addicted to (or dependent on) drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, work, food, or any other problem from which they need to be “rescued”.  The codependent person, through a strong need of their own, tries to solve the problem or “fix” their dependent friend or loved one.  For example, a codependent may be someone who covers up for their alcoholic spouse who couldn’t make it to work – again.  Or, the codependent may be someone who hides, throws away or even eats all the candy and sweets in the house in order to help their overweight roommate stay on a diet.   If you find yourself, or have been, in a relationship with someone with addictions or control issues of any kind, Untangling Relationships is for you  This small group enables us to relate to one another in healthy ways and to walk in the Spirit.  “For those who live according to the flesh set there minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.”  Rom. 8:5-6

Hurt People Hurt People is more than a clever phrase.  Hurt people hurt others because they themselves have been hurt.  And each one of us has been hurt to one degree or another.  As that damage causes us to become defensive and self-protective, we may lash out as others.  Hurting becomes a vicious cycle.  But God can help us break that cycle.  He offers His healing and hope.  “You have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm.  Nothing is too hard for you.”  Jer. 32:17

Boundaries is a class to teach you when to say “yes” and when to say “no” for good self care and to take control of our lives in a healthy way.  Boundaries is a video series presented by Drs. Townsend and Cloud. This support group offers practical help and encouragement to all who seek a healthy, balanced life and presents insight and wisdom for those seeking to deal with their inability to say no.  God Himself sets boundaries.  He tells us in His Word what appropriate behavior is and what it is not, and within His boundaries there is great peace and freedom.

“For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men—as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God.”  1 Peter 3:15-16
