A Note from Pastor Dwain's desk -  July 25, 2010

Pastor Dwain & Pam Kitchens
Dear Family,

I want to thank everyone who participated and made our Vacation Bible School a success! Pastor Geoff and Shawna did a fantastic job, but without all the volunteers who assisted and
led in the various activities, it wouldn’t have happened.  It
definitely took a team effort.  As Pam
and I walked down the halls and looked into the various rooms and the activities going on, I was
so thankful for our church family.  And that’s what a church really is—a family of believers working together to bring edification and spiritual development in the lives of those we are privileged to serve.  Many seeds were sown into the lives of children this week, and it is my prayer that they will take root and begin to blossom.  Our children will be facing challenging times as youth and adults, and the truth that was reinforced in their lives this past week is of utmost importance.  Not only
was the Word of God instilled within them, but rich memories of fun, fellowship, and love.  They enjoyed being in church, and we want to do everything we can to ensure that their memories of church during their growing years are positive, affirming, caring, loving, and fun.  We want them
to love the church and be a part of a church the rest of their lives.  Never underestimate the power of the Word and love of Christ expressed to significantly influence a generation.  Pray to this end!

Men’s Breakfast!  You will not want to miss the Men’s Breakfast this Saturday, July 31st, at
7:30 AM.  The food is always excellent and the fellowship is great.  We would love for everyone to come an hour earlier (6:30 AM) and meet in the chapel for prayer.  Just follow the sidewalk
north
of our Worship Center and it is the small building on the lake.  If you are new to attending prayer meetings, please be assured you will never be asked to pray out loud.  Prayers are spontaneously lifted up as the Spirit leads, and no one is ever put on the spot. It’s a great way to begin the morning.  So, come join us and meet some of the other men who make up our Tabernacle Family!

Many of you are aware that Pastor Robert Hunsdale’s wife Wendy recently underwent cancer surgery.  She is doing well, but will begin chemotherapy soon.  Please keep Wendy and the family in your prayers for her healing and speedy recovery.  Pastor Hunsdale is one of our missionaries we support in Northern Ireland who is doing an excellent job in reaching and discipling people for Christ.

Next Sunday is Building Fund Sunday.  I know these are difficult times financially, but if all of us can make consistent gifts, regardless of their size, one day we will be in our new facilities.  We will remain patient and wait for His timing

Pursuing Him,
