~ Over 540 Shoeboxes were collected between our
church body & The Tabernacle Christian School.

                                                                          Thank you!

12-05-09    Thank you for your prayers. It is been a great "Operation Christmas Child" season for us -
Our team received more shoe box gifts than ever (10,774 +); our active Relay Center network and Collection Center leadership adjusted to new and every changing processes; our current church partners gave more and with new
excitement; we have new church partners; we have new church partners that want to participate for the first time
next year; we have churches that want to take a greater leadership roll next year; and we have folks who have asked
to begin the recruitment process to become 12 month annual volunteers.

From Atlanta, Cindy (the State Director) says: "Today we are up to over 569,000 shoeboxes processed out of the 860,000 we are supposed to do for Ukraine, India and Pakistan!  Whew!!!"

In addition to that we packed an additional 28,000 for a sensititive Muslim country.  That was quite an experience.

We Thank each of your for your personal prayers, support and encouragement.

Peace of the Lord be with you, Andy and Becky

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse headed
by Franklin Graham, that collects gift-filled shoe boxes and delivers them in the name of Jesus Christ to children living in desperate situations around the world.
By packing a shoe box filled with an assortment of school supplies, toys and necessity items, doors are open wide to share the Good
News of the Savior. Boxes are sent to over 90 countries worldwide. Since 2008, 7,968,214 shoe boxes have been collected internationally. As boxes are distributed, so are gospel booklets. Through a follow-up discipleship program, well over 2 million boys
and girls have committed their lives to Christ.

How to Start
Begin by picking up a pamphlet from the concession stand and reading the simple instructions. Your brochure will
have your shoe box label as well as more detailed information.

1. PICK UP A BOX
Use an empty shoe box (standard size, please) or a small plastic container that is flexible. For your convenience, a number of boxes can be picked up at the concession stand during service times. If you are able, please wrap the box (lid separately), but wrapping is not required.
If you chose to use a flexible, plastic box, use the wrapping paper
inside. Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your gift.

2. BOY OR GIRL?
Determine whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl, and the child’s
age category: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Print out the appropriate boy/girl label by downloading the artwork to the right. Mark the correct age category
on the label, and tape the label to the top of your box.

3. FILL WITH GIFTS
Fill the box with a variety of gifts that will bring delight to a child.  Use
the gift ideas provided on the bottom of this page.

4. INCLUDE YOUR DONATION
Please donate $7 or more for each shoe box you prepare to help cover shipping and other project costs. You can give online by using our EZGIVE option, or you can write a check to Samaritan’s Purse (note “OCC” on memo line) and place it in an envelope on top of the gift items inside your box.

EZ Give is a simple, convenient way to make your shoe box donation online by using a credit or debit card, eliminating the need to place a check inside the box. For this option go to:
Samaritans Purse
If you or your family are preparing more than one shoe box, please
make
one
combined donation.

5. DROP OFF

Place a rubber band around each closed shoe box and drop off at the Concession Stand or our display the weeks of November 1, 8 or 15 during service times. November 15th will be our last day of collecting boxes at the Tabernacle, but you can contact Patty Bains at 355-8858
to make other arrangements.
